This course will give you an an overview of Microsoft Office application skills needed in today's job market, how to maximize your current skills, and how to create a personalized resume that works for you. Students will also learn how to develop a job finding strategy, how to utilize traditional and online job search methods, the elements of an effective job interview and how to successfully navigate your first day on your new job.
In this course students will:
Identify the parts to a computer.
Use Windows to navigate within applications and manage files.
Create, spell check, edit and format Word documents.
Add graphics, tables, outlines and styles to their Word documents. Students will create an effective resume.
Create PowerPoint presentations. Students will identify effective presentation skills.
Create and format Microsoft Excel spreadsheets that contain data, formulas and functions.
Use Excel to perform "What If" analysis on spreadsheet data and create charts. Students will create budgets.
Manipulate data in a Microsoft Access database and create forms.
Use Access to create reports, queries and a switchboard. Students will create a time management plan.
Use Outlook to manage their time and email. Students will develop teamwork skills.
