This class will cover guidelines to plan and organize a meeting, create an agenda, keep a meeting on-track, conduct a discussion, maintain control, and close a meeting on time. You will learn how to deal with problem meeting members and review the roles and responsibilities of both meeting leaders and members. You will discover the common frustrations most people have with meetings and how to avoid them. You will also be able to improve future meetings through evaluation and feedback.
In this course students will:
- Be able to identify the many responsibilities of the meeting leader.
- Be able to identify the 3 phases of meeting planning and identify specific activities to be completed at each phase. You will also be able to create an agenda and minutes for your meeting.
- Be able to list at least 3 ways to make your meeting members feel safe and willing to participate positively before, during, and after your meeting.
- Learn strategies to control problem members who disrupt your meeting and reduce its effectivness.
Prerequisites
Students should be familiar with browsing the internet, uploading files and using their operating system.
